The Design Guideline incorporates a set of instructions aiming to help designers via the consolidation of already existing national design regulations and standards and best international practices in one single document.  These sets of instructions are intended to cover the minimum design requirements for tourist accommodation facilities to help designers and builders to create facilities that are functional and aesthetic to tourists, all while leaving space for designers to come up with innovative and creative ideas. 

ශ්‍රී ලංකා සංචාරක සංවර්ධන අධිකාරිය සහ සංචාරක අමාත්‍යාංශය, UNDP ආයතනයේ තාක්ෂණික සහ මූල්‍ය ආධාර ඇතිව ජාතික තිරසාර සංචාරක ක්‍රියාවලියේ 2 වැනි අදියර වශයෙන් පළාත් 9 ක තෝරාගත් ගමනාන්ත 9 ක්, තිරසාර ක්‍රමවේදයන් භාවිතා කිරීම වෙත පරිවර්තනය කිරීම සඳහා ජාතික තිරසාර ගමනාන්ත සහතික කිරීමේ (NSDC) යෝජනා ක්‍රමයක් ආරම්භ කර ඇත.

රට තුල සෙමෙන් පිබිදෙන සංචාරක කර්මාන්තය නඟා සිටුවීමේ මුල් පියවරක් ලෙස ශ්‍රී ලංකා සංචාරක අධිකාරය, ශ්‍රී ලංකා සංචාරක හා හෝටල් කළමනාකරණ ආයතනය (SLITHM) හා එක්ව, සියළුම ලියාපදිංචි මාර්ගෝපදේශකයින්ට ඔවුන්ගේ දැනුම සහ කුසලතා වැඩි දියුණු කිරීම සඳහා අඛණ්ඩ වෘත්තීය සංවර්ධන (CPD) විද්‍යුත් වේදිකාව හඳුන්වා දී ඇත
