Sri Lanka marked a major milestone in its tourism development efforts with the official launch of the Marine Tourism Roadmap on Thursday, April 10, 2025 in Colombo. This initiative, led by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) with support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) under its technical assistance program TA9881 SRI: Supporting Tourism Resilience, lays the groundwork for a new chapter in tourism and the nation’s blue economy.

The Design Guideline incorporates a set of instructions aiming to help designers via the consolidation of already existing national design regulations and standards and best international practices in one single document.  These sets of instructions are intended to cover the minimum design requirements for tourist accommodation facilities to help designers and builders to create facilities that are functional and aesthetic to tourists, all while leaving space for designers to come up with innovative and creative ideas. 

இலங்கை சுற்றுலா அபிவிருத்தி அதிகாரசபை, இலங்கையின் UNDPயின் தொழில்நுட்ப மற்றும் நிதி உதவியுடன் சுற்றுலா அமைச்சு, 9 மாகாணங்களில் 9 தெரிவு செய்யப்பட்ட இடங்களை சிறந்த நிலையான நடைமுறைகளுடன் 2வது கட்டமாக தேசிய நிலையான சுற்றுலா முயற்சிக் கட்டமாக மாற்றுவதற்கான தேசிய நிலையான இலக்கு சான்றிதழ் (NSDC) திட்டத்தை ஆரம்பித்துள்ளது.

நாட்டில் புத்துயிர் பெற்றுவரும் சுற்றுலாத்துறையை மேம்படுத்துவதற்கான ஒரு முன்முயற்சியாக, இலங்கை சுற்றுலா அபிவிருத்தி அதிகாரசபை இலங்கை சுற்றுலா AMP நிறுவனத்துடன் இணைந்து; ஹோட்டல் மேனேஜ்மென்ட் (SLITHM) பதிவுசெய்யப்பட்ட அனைத்து வழிகாட்டிகளுக்கும் அவர்களின் அறிவு மற்றும் திறன்களை மேம்படுத்த தொடர்ச்சியான தொழில்முறை மேம்பாட்டு (CPD) இலத்திரனியல் கற்றல் தளத்தை அறிமுகப்படுத்தியுள்ளது.
